The Sitcom Premise
Theme Park Shrink is the name of a recurring three-panel comic strip from Funnies, an Airplane Comics publication. The sitcom centers on a theme park that has more than one licensed mental-health doctor working at the same park. The doctors meet with workers and guests, and they also talk with one another, creating a workplace ensemble in which each short strip can capture one compact situation, conversation, reaction, or punchline.
Over time, enough recurring strips could also be collected in trade-paperback form.
The Designers’ Responsibility
The real design question behind the comedy is when teams developing theme-park ideas should invite a licensed psychiatrist and/or psychologist to review a design for family-friendliness, mental health, and overall well-being. Park Worlds can use Theme Park Shrink to keep that responsibility visible while exploring how attractions, environments, stories, queues, sound, lighting, intensity, crowding, rest, and other design choices affect people.
The Attraction
Theme Park Shrink also appears physically as a specific Theme Park Shrink attraction in the SITCOM Land Theme. The ride translates the strip’s three-panel rhythm into brief live scenes as vehicles pass the doctors’ offices.
