The Ride

The attraction is a ride through the doctors’ offices in a central area of the fictional theme park. Simple walls surround the ride path, with large open viewing windows — open areas with no glass barrier — into individual office-room sets. Live actors and actresses portray the doctors, guests, workers, and other fictional patients in each room.

The host reminds riders that they should not eavesdrop. The vehicle therefore does not linger: guests catch only a few seconds of each room, roughly three comic-strip panels worth of information, before moving to the next office. Doctors also appear in scenes with one another, letting the ride build the same ensemble-sitcom relationships as the Theme Park Shrink comic strip.

First-Stage Ride Manufacturing

Theme Park Shrink is also a practical experiment in very low-cost ride manufacturing. A warehouse or temporary installation could use a flat ride path, simple slow-moving vehicles, modular partition walls, basic office furniture, live performers, and replaceable show scenes. It functions like a dark ride in story structure even if the warehouse lights are on.

The larger goal is to develop a reusable platform that can help entrepreneurs become first-stage ride manufacturers: build and improve simple vehicle and guidance systems, create modular room interfaces, and then replace the show package for other stories and Original IP. Theme Park Shrink can be the first demonstration attraction rather than the only attraction the platform can support.

Theme Park Shrink belongs to the SITCOM Land Theme, is based on the Theme Park Shrink Original IP, and the comic strip is published through Funnies from Airplane Comics.
